The two sides exchanged views on how to strengthen cooperation on public science literacy and people-to-people exchanges in the field of science and technology.
Xu extended warm welcome to the guests and made a review of the recent exchanges and cooperation between CAST and TÜBİTAK.
Noting that CAST and TÜBİTAK both wish to cooperate with each other and have a good foundation for cooperation, Xu called on the two organizations to further strengthen ties and jointly explore cooperation on enhancing public science literacy, promoting science and technology exchanges among young people, and increasing exchanges and mutual learning among science communication professionals, thereby jointly contributing to public science literacy improvement in both China and Turkey and to bilateral cooperation on people-to-people exchanges in the field of science and technology.
Mandal spoke highly of CAST's endeavors in promoting public science literacy, including the building of international platforms for exchanges and cooperation.
He said that TÜBİTAK sees CAST as a strategic partner and looks forward to strengthening exchanges and cooperation with CAST.
Mandal also expressed TÜBİTAK's willingness to actively participate in the international conferences and activities CAST holds.
He hoped that the two sides will carry out practical cooperation on promoting exchanges among young people, increasing exchanges and mutual visits of professionals of science and technology museums, and conducting public science literacy surveys.
Also joining the meeting were advisor to Mandal Siir Kilkis and officials of the CAST Department of International Affairs and the China Research Institute for Science Popularization.
