Zhang Yuzhuo, Secretary of the Leading Party Members Group, Vice President in charge of daily work and Chief Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), went to the China Nonferrous Metals Industry Association (CNIA) and the Nonferrous Metals Society of China (Nfsoc) to have discussions with relevant personnel and make survey of the two organizations on October 9, 2021.

Ge Honglin, Secretary of the Party committee and President of the CNIA, and Jia Mingxing, President of the Nfsoc participated in the event.
Zhang Yuzhuo fully affirmed the achievements the CNIA and the Nfsoc had made in academic exchanges, talent introduction, think tank consultation and STM journals construction.
He pointed out that the nonferrous metals industry is an important part in national economy and a key foundation for the development of new energy industry.
He said that CAST will give full play to its organizational and talent advantages and deepen cooperation with the CNIA to promote the development of the Nfsoc in international academic exchanges, the construction of academic journals and the transformation of sci-tech achievements to provide strong support for the R&D of green and low-carbon technologies and the development of new energy industry.

Ge Honglin thanked CAST for its long-term support for the CNIA and the Nfsoc.
He said that the CNIA will fully support the development of the Nfsoc and actively provide think tank consultation and data process services for policy-making of China’s nonferrous metals industry.
He expressed his hope that CAST will give more guidance and support to the Nfsoc in the introduction of professionals, the construction of academic organizations and the expansion of international exchanges.
Relevant officers of CAST, the CNIA and the Nfsoc participated in the event.
