Lu Daming, vice president of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society (CMES) met Mr. Paulo Lopes, China country head of the Institute of Engineering and Technology (IET) on August 3, 2022.

Lu Daming expressed his warm welcome to Paulo. Lu hoped the two sides to strengthen cooperation and form a regular exchange mechanism.

Paulo briefed the attendees about IET’s recent work in China in the fields of mutual accreditation of engineering education and qualification, cooperative STM publication, personnel training, and membership. He hoped to conduct more in-depth cooperation with the CMES on the areas of common interest.

The two sides exchanged views on topics on international mutual recognition of engineers, education and training, member services, S&T awards, and agreed to sign a memorandum of cooperation on basis of further communication to consolidate and develop cooperative relationship between the two organizations.

Luan Dakai, assistant secretary general and director of the office of general administration of the CMES, Liang Ying, director of the office of international affairs, Chen Jiang, deputy director of the office of education and training, and Li Zhenzhen, development manager of the IET, attended the meeting.
