On August 22,2022 China (Hebi) Automotive Electronic and Electrical Appliance Industry Technology Development Conference was held in Hebi City, Henan Province, under the guidance of China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), China Society of Automotive Engineers (China SAE), Henan Association for Science and Technology and Hebi Municipal Government. Zhang Guihua, member of the Leading Party Members Group, and Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of CAST, and Li Jun, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and President of China SAE gave video speeches. Zhang Minggao, academician of Chinese Academy of Engineering and leading expert of "Innovation China" Henan joint regional science and technology services, President of Henan Association for Science and Technology Lv Guofan, Secretary of Hebi Municipal Committee of the CPC Ma Fuguo attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches. Also present at the opening ceremony were leaders in chief from Hebi Municipal Committee of the CPC and Municipal Government. Mayor of Hebi City Guo Hao presided over the opening ceremony.

Zhang Guihua said in his speech that the main strategic direction of China’s new energy vehicle development is to transform the core and key technologies of the industry. Efforts must be made in establishing and improving the industrial system and cultivate inter-disciplinary innovative talents, and create favourable policies for the development of the industry. As remarkable progresses had been already achieved in the industrial standards, manufacturers alliances, deployment of the presence of the enterprises relating to the industry, and relevant R&D, it is hopeful that the new energy vehicle industry will be able to shoulder the historic responsibility of “curve overtaking” in China’s automobile industry. He expected the new energy vehicle sector would adhere to independent innovation and especially give full play to the main roles of enterprises in innovation. They should stick to cross-border integration to guide innovation factors to break through the geographic restrictions.  He cautioned that the principle of talent first must be followed and CAST organizational advantages of talent resources must be brought into full play, to provide solid and reliable talent support for the realization of building a nation with powerful automobile industry.

Lv Guofan said in his speech that the conference has built a scientific and technological innovation strategic platform of information integration, investment attraction, talent attraction and industry-university-research cooperation, which is of great significance to promote the development of the automobile industry in Henan Province. Henan Association for Science and Technology will work with Hebi Municipal Government, further strengthen contacts and cooperation with the national societies and experts, building a first-class innovation platform, cultivating first-class innovation subject, gather first-class innovation team, power Hebi automotive electric appliances industry to enhance the core competitiveness and brand influence, to promote the construction of Hebi as "Innovation China" pilot city to a higher level.

Zhang Minggao spoke highly of the remarkable achievements made in the transformation of Hebi from a resource-based city, and said deeper practical cooperation would be achieved with the advantage of experts of the technological service group. Barriers such as the disconnection between scientific research results and market demand must be broken, to promote the close integration of industry, university and research, and jointly do a good job in the construction of the pilot city of “Innovation China". In his speech, Ma Fuguo welcomed all the guests and thanked China Association for Science and Technology, Henan Association for Science and Technology and China

SAE for their concern and support to the development of Hebi.

At the opening ceremony, Henan New Energy Vehicle Intelligent Technology Research Institute and New Energy Vehicle Intelligent Control System Industrial Park signed contracts on two projects. Experts and commercial representatives of China SAE, Henan Instrument Society, Henan Automobile Industry Association, Henan Automotive Engineering Society, and leaders of Hebi counties (functional areas) and municipal departments attended the meeting.
