On March 12, 2024, Luo Hui, member of the leading Party members group and director general of the Department of International Affairs of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), met with Mark Walport, vice president and foreign secretary of The Royal Society of the UK (RS) and Alison Noble of the RS in Beijing.

CAST and the RS have maintained a long-term partnership, jointly promoting the construction of STM journals and public’s engagement in science. They have also facilitated visits and exchanges between Chinese and British scientists in their academic activities.

The two sides reached consensus to carry out more practical cooperation within the framework of the bilateral Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to promote international sci-tech exchanges and cooperation.

Zhu Yongguan, member of the International Cooperation and External Liaison Committee of the Standing Committee of CAST, and relevant officers from the Department of Sci-tech Innovation, Department of Science Popularization, Department of International Affairs of CAST, Communication Center for Science and Technology of CAST attended the meeting.
