This summer, 19 students coming from Taiwan and Macau will spend about two months in Nanjing for their internship. The program is organized by the Children and Youth Science Center of Jiangsu Province and was launched on June 30 in Nanjing Southeast University.
Among the 19 students, 12 came from Sun Yat-Sen University and other colleges in Taiwan and 7 came from the University of Macau and Macau University of Science and Technology. They have conducted various kinds of activities in 6 institutions including Jiangsu Broadcasting Corporation, Jiangsu Science and Technology Museum and the Nanjing branch of Founder Technology Group Corporation.
Since 2002, in order to help college students from Hong Kong to acquire a deeper understanding of the mainland's science & technology, economy, culture and social life, CAST has launched a summer internship program in Beijing, Shanghai, Nanjing, Hangzhou, Kunming and other citie. In 2006, the program was expanded to include Macau and Taiwan regions. More than 1,500 students from these regions have participated in the program since its start. Over one hundred institutions and enterprises including China Central Television, Bank of China, Shanghai Baosteel have hosted the students. The program covers about 16 industries including IT, press and media, building construction and others. |
