The third of the series activity "Scientists and Media: Face to Face" organized by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) was held on April 20 at the China Hall of Science and Technology in Beijing, which focused on the issue of nuclear pollution, a subject of public concern caused by the recent nuclear incident at Fukushima, Japan and the Chernobyl disaster in 1986. Prof. Chen Zhuzhou, member of the State Nuclear Emergency Coordinating Committee, Mr. Fu Manchang, secretary general of the China Nuclear Society and member of the Standing Committee of the Committee of Science and Technology, China National Nuclear Corporation, and Mr. Zhou Pingkun, secretary general of the Chinese Society of Toxicology were invited to participate and had a face to face communication with more than 40 journalists from the news media.
