Mr. Yi Xiaogang is chief engineer and senior engineer of Sany Heavy Industry Co., Ltd. and vice president of the Chinese Mechanical Engineering Society.

He chaired and participated in more than 90 key R&D projects, among which key technology of concrete pumping has upgraded Chinese concrete machinery into world advanced level.

He chaired and led the product development of 120 kinds of engineering machinery in 21 series including concrete machinery, road machinery, crane machinery, and port machinery. The innovative products included first homemade 37M Truck-mounted Concrete Pump, world first 3-grade-blending Concrete Pump, world first Hydro Land Scraper, world first Asphalt Cement Slurry Machine, and world longest 72-meter truck-mounted concrete pump.

Under Yi Xiaogang's leadership, R&D personnel of Sany Research Institute have increased to 5,000 from around a dozen in 1995, making Sany the largest R&D team in China's engineering machinery. The "Sany Heavy Industry Engineering Machinery Technology Innovation Platform Development" chaired by him was granted the second prize of 2010 National Science and Technology Advancement Award.

The products developed under his leadership were extensively used in some key projects like Qinhai-Tibet Railway, Three Gorges and Bird-nest Stadium, and provided strong support to national infrastructure construction, and were exported to over 115 countries and regions worldwide.
