Zhou Huaiying is the president of Guilin University of Electronic Technology, Professor, Council member of the Chinese Physical Society.
Graduated from his master program in 1985, Zhou Huaiying has been engaged in the teaching and study in the field of basic theory of materials (mainly rare-earth alloy phase diagram) and has achieved many breakthrough results in the research of rare-earth phase diagram. He has presided over and undertaken 22 scientific projects at the national, provincial and ministerial level and has published over 120 core academic papers in major scientific journals at home and abroad. He has been granted three invention patents. Two of his scientific achievements have been awarded first prize for the advancement of science in Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region. He has been honored as National Outstanding Professional and Key Teacher of the Ministry of Education.
In 2010, Zhou was honored as "Outstanding Scientist of China".
