Liu Zeming is the president and a senior researcher of the Sixth Research Institute of China Aerospace Science and Industry Group. As an expert of solid rocket motor, he developed two nozzle technologies that were new both at home and abroad. His demonstration and validation project of a new engine reached the international advanced standard, making important contribution to the application of third generation solid motor and development of China's armament industry.

As a university graduate of 1983, Liu Zeming began his work at a research institute under the China Hexi Chemical Machinery Company, the cradle of China's solid rocket motors, and soon became a technical backbone. As one of the principal researchers of a project, he solved some key technical problems including the theoretic calculation, structural design and materials selection of pressure-bear sealed capsule of solid rocket motor. In addition, he has solved a series of technical problems with the relevant personnel.

In recent years, he took the responsibility of leading and organizing the constitution and implementation work of solid propulsion technology development plan for the eleventh five-year period, carrying out and completed more than 90 projects.

In addition, he also completed a variety of key technology researches such as new high-octane and special propeller technology, high-strength organic fiber technology, wide temperature region solid engine design and test verification technology, effectively promoting the technological development of fourth generation solid rocket motor.
