Wu Xintao, a research scientist and a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, is chair of academic committee of Fujian Institute of Research on the Structure of Matter under the Chinese Academy of Sciences.

Wu Xintao made a great deal of original research achievements of internationally advanced standard in frontiers of sulfur containing transition metal atomic cluster chemistry, rare earth-amino acids cluster chemistry, and supramolecular inorganic assembly chemistry. He also accomplished highly in structural modification and inorganic assembly chemistry. His research achievements were awarded First Prize of Natural Science Award of CAS, Second Prize of National Natural Science Award, and First Prize of Fujian Provincial S&T Award.
