CAST team active at ISWEEEP for 8 times running


From May 3rd to 7th, the 2017 International Sustainable World (Engineering Energy Environment) Project Olympiad (ISWEEEP) was held in Texas, Houston, USA. 3 high school students organized by Children and Youth Science Centre of CAST were all awarded prizes. Peng Shuang from the High School Affiliated to Anhui Normal University won the gold medal and Du Runqiu from Peiyuan Middle School of Quanzhou won honor award in the engineering category, Zou Jiayun from the Attached Middle School to Jilin University won the third prize in the Environment-Management & Pollution Category.

This is the 8th year for CAST to send delegations to participate in the competition since 2010. This year, more than 400 contestants from 60 countries and over 40 states of the United States competed in the event. In addition to CAST delegation, Shanghai, Hongkong Special Administrative Region and the Macao Special Administrative Region were also sent teams to participate in the competition, in which 4 student projects from Shanghai have achieved 2 silver, 1 bronze and 1 honorary award.

Launched by Harmony Public Schools 10 years ago, ISWEEEP has drawn hundreds of the brightest STEM-focused middle school students in the world together each year to compete with projects exploring topics such as renewable energy, sustainable development and medical breakthroughs and become a well-known youth's scientific and technological creative event all over the world. The Organizer and its sponsors present more than $100,000 in awards and scholarships to student scientists from approximately 60 countries, including the United States.
