New Editor-in-Chief Announced for Materials Chemistry Frontiers: Shu-Hong Yu

Jointly recommended by the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS) and the Royal Society of Chemistry (RSC), Professor Shu-Hong Yu from the University of Science and Technology of China will succeed Professor Ben Zhong Tang from the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology as the Editor-in-Chief of Materials Chemistry Frontiers (MCF) on 21 December 2020.

 

The Chinese Chemical Society would like to extend a warm welcome to Professor Shu-Hong Yu's appointment and sincerely thank Professor Ben Zhong Tang for his great contribution!

 

Materials Chemistry Frontiers is jointly organized by the Chinese Chemical Society, the Royal Society of Chemistry, and the Institute of Chemistry, Chinese Academy of Sciences. This journal, which is a member of the Frontiers series, launched its first issue in early 2017, in the same year, Materials Chemistry Frontiers was included in the Emerging Sources Citation Index and Scopus, and was included in the Science Citation Index Expanded in 2019. This year, Materials Chemistry Frontiers recieved its first impact factor – 6.788.

 

Materials Chemistry Frontiers mainly reports on the synthesis methods and chemical properties of various new organic, inorganic, composite and nanomaterials, as well as the improvement of material preparation technology, and also publishes important material characterization and basic theoretical work.

 

Introduction of Professor Shu-Hong Yu

 

Shu-Hong Yu, Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Professor of the Department of Chemistry of the University of Science and Technology of China, doctoral supervisor, obtainer of China National Science Fund for Distinguished Young Scholars, the Yangtze River Distinguished Professor of the "Changjiang Scholars Award Program" of the Ministry of Education, the Outstanding Foreign Talents introduced by Chinese Academy of Sciences, the Chief Scientist of National Major Scientific Research Project, the Academic Leader of the National Natural Science Foundation of China, Science Foundation of Innovation Research Group, National "Ten Thousand Talents Program" technology leader. Shu-Hong Yu is currently the director of the Nanomaterials and Chemistry Research Department of Hefei National Research Center for Material Science at Microscale. Shu-Hong Yu has long been engaged in the biomimetic synthesis, assembly and functional application of inorganic and composite materials, and published more than 430 papers in international journals such as Science, Nat. Mater., Nat. Nanotechnol., Nat. Catal., Sci. Adv., Nat, Commun., etc, with 56,400 citations, and H factor 132. Shu-Hong Yu has been continuously selected into the global list of highly cited authors from 2014 to 2020. He won the China National Natural Science Second Prize twice as the first completion person. In 2020, he won the China National Innovation Medal, and in 2018, he won the Anhui Provincial Major Scientific and Technological Achievement Award. He has won the Roy-Somiya Medal of the International Solvothermal and Hydrothermal Association (ISHA), Chem Soc Rev Emerging Investigator Award, the Young Innovation Award of the Chinese Chemical Society & BASF (Germany), the Award for National Outstanding Youth in Science and Technology, etc.
