2024 Academician and Expert Fujian Tour program kicks off in Fuzhou

Recently, the first event of 2024 Academician Expert (Biomedical) Fujian Tour program was held in Fuzhou, capital city of Southeast China's Fujian Province, which also unveiled the establishment of Fuzhou Science and Technology Innovation Center of the Biophysical Society of China (BSC) and the BSC Caenorhabditis elegans Popular Science Education Base.

Zhang Hong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and researcher of the Institute of Biophysics of the CAS, and relevant leaders of Fujian Association for Science and Technology (FAST) attended the event.

Zhang Hong noted in his speech that the Fuzhou Science and Technology Innovation Center is the first sci-tech innovation platform established by the BSC in collaboration with enterprises and science associations to jointly serve local development.

With its goal to promote sci-tech innovation and enhance the public’s scientific literacy in local areas, the Fuzhou Science and Technology Innovation Center gathered and fully play the role of high-level experts and science communication resources to help with local socio-economic development in implementation of the science and education revitalization strategy in the new era.

Following the signing ceremony, Zhang delivered a lecture entitled “The Molecular Mechanism of Autophagy in Multicellular Organisms and Its Relationship with Abnormalities and Diseases”, over 130 students, teachers and researchers were in attendance.

2024 Academician Expert (Biomedical) Fujian Tour program is one of the serial programs organized by FAST.

The program is sponsored by FAST, and jointly organized by BSC, the School of Life Sciences of Fujian Normal University and Fuzhou Association for Science and Technology.
