Luo Hui meets with ECZ former Chair Martin Manuhwa

Luo Hui, Executive Secretary of the leading Party members group, Director General of the Department of International Affairs of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and Vice Chair and Co-Secretary-General of the Chinese Society of Engineers (CSE), met in Beijing with Eng. Martin Manuhwa, former Chair of the Engineering Council of Zimbabwe (ECZ) and Chair of the Capacity Building Technical Standing Committee of the World Federation of Engineering Organizations (WFEO) on April 9, 2025.

The two sides engaged in in-depth discussions and reached preliminary consensus on several key areas, including advancing follow-up cooperation between the ECZ and the Secretariat of the CSE, systematically promoting the engineering capacity building for Africa program, and supporting the establishment of the Belt and Road Initiative international engineering organizations council.

They also expressed hopes for further collaboration in areas including fostering exchanges and mutual learning among engineers between China and Zimbabwe, as well as between China and Africa, organizing Continuing Professional Development (CPD) activities, and integrating training resources.

Representatives from the Secretariat of the CSE, the BRI international engineering organizations council (preparatory), and the international office of the engineering capacity building for Africa program also attended the meeting.
