Luo Hui holds talks with Tshilidzi Marwala

Luo Hui, Executive Secretary of the leading Party members group and Director General of the Department of International Affairs of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), held talks with Professor Tshilidzi Marwala, Under-Secretary-General of the United Nations (UN) and Rector of the United Nations University (UNU), and his delegation in Beijing on February 24, 2025.

Both sides exchanged in-depth views on promoting exchanges and cooperation among young scientists, building engineering capabilities in Africa, and establishing international academic exchange platforms.

Both sides believe that it is necessary to promote regular exchanges and dialogues in the international sci-tech community, enhance mutual understanding, encourage young scientists to speak out and play a leading role, and establish a long-term exchange and cooperation mechanism.

As a unique academic institution within the UN system, the UNU is committed to promoting the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) through cross-border and interdisciplinary collaborative research and education programs.

Also present at the event were officials from the Department of Sci-tech Innovation, Department of Strategic Development, Department of International Affairs, China Center for International Science and Technology Exchange (CISTE), CAST Center for Professional Training and Services, and World Association of Young Scientists (WAYS).
