The exhibition "Commemorating the Centenary of Zhuang Fenggan: A Tribute to His Legacy in Aerodynamics and Space Science" is inaugurated at the China Scientists Museum on February 27, 2025.
The exhibition was jointly organized by the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) and the China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC).
Zhuang Fenggan (1925–2010) was a renowned Chinese aerodynamicist and one of the founding figures of China's aerospace industry. He was also a member of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) and served as the Vice President of the CAST for 3 consecutive terms. Returning to China in the 1950s, Zhuang dedicated himself to the nation's aerospace development, making significant contributions to the field of aerodynamics.
The exhibition is divided into 7 sections, including "Inheriting Family Values and Achieving Academic Success," "Three Assignments and Preparations for Takeoff," "Scientific Research for Motherland and Devotion to Aerospace," "Pioneering Foundations and Wind Tunnel Construction," "Independent Innovation and Model Development," "Academic Exchange and Nurturing Talents," and "Carrying Forward Legacy and Eternal Spirit".
Through hundreds of precious photos, manuscripts, experimental reports, and certificates, the exhibition showcases Zhuang's remarkable life and contributions. Interactive displays, such as wind tunnel reconstructions and drone model experiences, allow visitors to trace his journey and understand the Spirit of Chinese scientists.
The event aims to inspire scientists and researchers to embrace patriotic dedication, scientific rigor, and the pursuit of national strength.
The event was attended by He Junke, Executive Secretary of the leading Party members group, Executive President and Chief Executive Secretary of the Secretariat of the CAST, Li Jun, Executive Secretary of the leading Party members group and Vice President of the CASC, and Yang Liwei, Deputy Chief Designer of the China Manned Space Engineering Program and a distinguished astronaut, as well as over 100 relatives and friends of Academician Zhuang Fenggan, representatives from the scientific community, and media journalists.
