Pakpoom Buabthong highlights threefold role of young scientists

The China-ASEAN Young Scientists Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence was held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on Sept. 19, bringing together nearly 200 young scientists, experts, researchers and enterprise representatives from across China and ASEAN countries.

During the thematic seminar on “Building a New Model for China–ASEAN AI Industrial Development by Young Scientists,” participants discussed practical pathways and the responsibilities of youth in shaping the AI sector.

Pakpoom Buabthong, assistant professor of Physics in the Department of Science and Technology at Nakhon Ratchasima Rajabhat University, Thailand, emphasized the threefold role of young scientists:

Technology innovators – leveraging flexibility to explore new frontiers in AI.

Knowledge communicators – translating complex technologies into accessible content to enhance public AI literacy.

Policy liaisons – creating dialogue platforms between youth and policymakers to promote AI governance that meets regional needs.
