Zhu Houyan details Guangxi’s AI development advantages

The China-ASEAN Young Scientists Dialogue on Artificial Intelligence was held in Nanning, Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, on Sept. 19, bringing together nearly 200 young scientists, experts, researchers and enterprise representatives from across China and ASEAN countries.

During the keynote session, Zhu Houyan, chief engineer of the Bureau of Big Data of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region, outlined Guangxi’s advantages in AI development. As a key hub connecting China and ASEAN, Guangxi has resources such as low-cost computing power, cross-border data channels, and ASEAN-language talent. Through initiatives including the establishment of the China–ASEAN Artificial Intelligence Application Cooperation Center and the launch of a 10-billion-yuan AI industry fund, Guangxi is building a “research–integration–application” closed loop, providing a practical platform for young scientists from China and ASEAN.
