Chengdu, May 23 -- The inaugural conference of the International Society of Sensing Technology (ISST) was held today in Chengdu, Sichuan Province.
Dong Weimin, Member of the Standing Committee of the Sichuan Provincial Party Committee and Executive Vice Governor, and Luo Hui, Executive Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), attended the conference and delivered speeches respectively.
The ISST was jointly initiated by the China Instrument and Control Society (CIS), Hanwei Electronics Group Corporation, and the UK's Institute of Measurement and Control (InstMC).
The founding members consist of 36 organizations from 10 countries and regions, including China, the UK, and Canada.
Jiang Zhuangde, a professor at Xi'an Jiaotong University and an academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering (CAE), was elected as the society's first president.
As a voluntary, international, and non-profit social organization, the ISST brings together social organizations, universities, enterprises, and research institutes from the global intelligent sensing community.
The society aims to promote international exchange, cooperation, and the integrated development of industry, academia, research, and application in the field of intelligent sensing, providing support for sustainable development goals through advanced sensing technologies.
