Commissioned by the Federation of Asian Nutrition Societies (FANS), and organized by the Chinese Nutrition Society (CNS), the 14th Asian Congress of Nutrition (ACN 2023) was held in Chengdu, Sichuan Province on September 14-17, 2023. The 16th China Nutrition Science Conference (CNSC 2023) proceeded as sideline event simultaneously.

It was the 2nd time the international event happened in Chinese mainland after 28 years when the 7th ACN was held in Beijing in 1995.

Under the theme of "Feeding the Future by Sustainable Nutrition", the event brought together 3,000 plus brightest minds in nutrition science and related professions from academia, government, and industry to solve the nutrition problems and challenges.

At the main forum session, 9 distinguished guests from home and abroad delivered keynote speeches respectively, exchanging information and experiences in nutrition research, action programs and trainings through the ACN.  

The event also provided platforms for the senior nutritionists to share their experiences, encourage and facilitate nutrition students and young nutritionists to advance their nutrition sciences and their applications for better health, sustained well being and longevity.

Prestigious international organizations including the International Union of Nutritional Sciences (IUNS), the World Health Organization (WHO), the Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations (FAO), the United Nations Children's International Emergency Fund (UNICEF), the International Food Composition Coordination Group (INFOODS), as well as more than 40 renowned Asian academic organizations sent delegates to participate.

Founded in 1973, FANS organizes the ACN every 4 years. The CNS joined the FANS in 1985, and since this year’s congress, China has officially become the chair of FANS (2023-2027).
