The 37th China Chemistry Olympiad Final: Beijing, China

From November 3rd to 8th, 2023, the 37th China Chemistry Olympiad Final was held in Beijing. The Final was hosted by the Chinese Chemical Society and jointly organized by the Beijing Chemical Society, the Department of Chemistry at Tsinghua University, and the College of Chemistry at Beijing Normal University.

A total of 558 students from 30 provinces, autonomous regions, municipalities directly under the central government, and the Macao Special Administrative Region, along with nearly 400 team leaders, observers, representatives of scientific associations, and attending delegates participated in this event, marking the largest number of participants in the history of the Final. The Final lasted for 6 days, during which the organizing committee arranged two theoretical exams, the "Qian Xuesen Spirit of Scientists Seminar," academician lectures, Huawei's science and technology seminars, as well as visits to the Tsinghua University History Museum and Art Museum. After the two exams, 181 participants won first prizes, 246 won second prizes, 119 won third prizes, and 12 received honorable mentions. In order to encourage more girls to study chemistry, a special award for the best female participant was established in the Final, which was won by student Sun Xuefei from Hubei Province.

The China Chemistry Olympiad is a youth science popularization event hosted by the Chinese Chemical Society, guided by the principles of "promoting the development of the discipline of chemistry and helping the growth of chemical talents." It continues to make progress and explore more potential talents in the field of chemistry.
