CAST official meets with ACS President to discuss scientific cooperation
Beijing, April 9 -- Luo Hui, Executive Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), met with Rigoberto Hernandez, President of the American Chemical Society (ACS), in Beijing on Thursday.
The two sides held in-depth discussions regarding the promotion of exchanges for young scientists and cooperation in STM journal publishing.
According to the meeting, both sides acknowledged the long-standing foundation of cooperation between academic organizations in China and the United States.
They agreed to look toward the future by jointly building bridges for communication between scientists of both nations.
Key priorities identified during the talks included further broadening exchange channels for young scientific personnel and cultivating reserve talent to ensure the sustained development of science.
The two sides also emphasized a commitment to win-win cooperation. They expressed a shared interest in exploring the co-hosting of high-level STM journals to help promote an open, fair, and non-discriminatory global academic ecosystem.
Representatives from the CAST Department of Sci-tech Innovation, the CAST Department of Strategic Development, and the Chinese Chemical Society (CCS) also attended the meeting.
