Luo Hui Meets Russian Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education

Beijing, May 18 -- Luo Hui, Executive Secretary of the Party Leadership Group of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), met in Beijing on Monday with a delegation led by Konstantin Mogilevsky, Deputy Minister of Science and Higher Education of the Russian Federation.

Both sides agreed that scientific and cultural exchanges serve as a vital component of the comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination between China and Russia in the new era.

They emphasized the importance of organizing deeper personnel exchanges, expanding consensus, and fostering pragmatic cooperation within the scientific communities of both nations.

During the meeting, the two sides held in-depth discussions and reached a broad consensus on several key topics. These included cooperation between scientific societies, exchanges for young scientists, touring exhibitions of frontier technologies in science museums, thematic exhibitions featuring prominent scientists, the launch of STM journals, and the mutual recognition of engineering education and professional competencies.

The two parties agreed to maintain close communication and establish a cooperation mechanism to ensure the effective implementation of these initiatives.

Prior to the meeting, the Russian delegation visited the China Science and Technology Museum.

Also present at the meeting were officials from CAST's Department of International Affairs, Department of Organization and Personnel, and Department of Sci-tech Innovation, as well as representatives from the CAST Center for Professional Training and Services, the CAST Children and Youth Science Center, and the World Association of Young Scientists(WAYS).
