Exhibition of Cover Art from China's Outstanding STM Journals Opens at NCCST

The STM journals serve as vital platforms for disseminating cutting-edge research, reflecting a nation’s scientific competitiveness and cultural soft power.

In 2019, the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), together with six other government departments, launched the “Action Plan for Excellent STM Journals” to drive reform and innovation in China’s scientific publishing sector and chart a path toward high-quality development.

Under this initiative, China’s scientific journal landscape has undergone remarkable transformation. The cover art of leading journals often masterfully visualizes complex scientific concepts through sophisticated design—showcasing a dynamic fusion of science, art, and culture.

To highlight this new era of Chinese scientific publishing, the National Communication Center for Science and Technology (NCCST) and the China Scientists Museum (CSM) are jointly presenting the “Exhibition of Cover Art from China’s Outstanding STM Journals.”

From 133 submissions by 54 journals, 30 particularly imaginative and visually striking covers have been selected for display.

The exhibition will be featured on digital screens along the second-floor gallery corridor at the NCCST.
