The two sides exchanged views on strengthening cooperation in policy research, capacity building, and knowledge sharing through CAST’s UN consultation platform.

They discussed how to jointly promote the implementation of the UN 2030 Agenda for Sustainable Development and the UN Pact for the Future. Both sides agreed on the importance of leveraging the UN’s multilateral platform to enhance international sci-tech cooperation, share China’s successful experiences, and drive sustainable development through technological innovation.

Since obtaining special consultative status with the UN Economic and Social Council in 2004, the CAST has actively engaged in UN initiatives and action plans. It has created diverse and cross-sector consultation topics and continuously promoted Chinese scientists’ participation in UN 2030 Agenda for the Sustainable Development, achieving positive results.
