Forum on Science and Technology Innovation Development Environment Held in Beijing
BEIJING, July 8 — The 27th Annual Meeting of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST) parallel forum — Forum on Science and Technology Innovation Development Environment was held in Beijing on July 8, 2025.
The event was sponsored by the CAST and organized by the Committee on Science Consulting of the 10th Standing Committee of the CAST.
The forum, themed "building a fertile environment for sci-tech innovation development towards building a science and technology powerhouse," focused on key dimensions including optimizing the environment for scientific exploration, industry-academia integration, factor aggregation, technology breakthroughs, and innovation ecosystems.
It invited experts and scholars from relevant fields to engage in in-depth exchanges and discussions to contribute ideas for creating a favorable environment for sci-tech innovation development.
Academician Deng Xiuxin, Director of the Committee on Science Consulting, delivered a keynote speech, emphasizing that building a vibrant, open, inclusive, well-guaranteed, and highly efficient environment for sci-tech innovation is an inherent requirement and inevitable path for building a science and technology powerhouse.
Zheng Zhiming, Vice President of the China Institute of Communications and Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), Kuang Guanli, Academic Director of the High Magnetic Field Laboratory of Hefei Institutes of Physical Sciences of the CAS, Cheng Hongbo, Executive Secretary of the leading Party members group of Guangdong Association for Science and Technology, Pan Kehou, Assistant Director of Laoshan National Laboratory and Zheng Haojun, Director General of the National Academy of Innovation Strategy (NAIS), delivered keynote speeches around the forum theme.
The forum also featured two special roundtable discussions, focusing on optimizing the growth environment for young sci-tech talents and strengthening the style and academic atmosphere construction in the sci-tech community.
