Luo Hui meets with IOP President

Luo Hui, Executive Secretary of the leading Party members group and Director General of the Department of International Affairs of the China Association for Science and Technology (CAST), met with Sir Keith Burnett, President of the Institute of Physics (IOP) of the UK and Fellow of the Royal Society (RS), who was visiting China on March 21, 2025.

During the meeting, they agreed on the need to enhance international exchanges and cooperation in the field of scientific research.

Both sides expressed their willingness to collaborate in creating more international exchange opportunities for early-career scientists, with a focus on supporting and nurturing their professional development.

Both sides expressed their readiness to launch collaborative training programs for editors in the physics journal field.

Both sides would build platforms focusing on cutting-edge fields including low-carbon technologies and the ethics of artificial intelligence, to facilitate international exchanges and cooperation among Chinese and British scientists, and to explore new ways for addressing global challenges.

Also present at the meeting were officials from the Department of Sci-tech Innovation of CAST, the Science and Technology Review Publishing House, the Chinese Physical Society (CPS), and Zhejiang Association for Science and Technology.
